The Power of (Self)Compassion
A Daylong Retreat
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19TH, 10AM-4PM
Compassion is so often confused with putting others’ welfare above your own, but true wisdom understands that genuine self-concern is the necessary foundation for kindness and compassion towards all beings. This daylong practice retreat will incorporate western psychological techniques with traditional Buddhist practices to help you cultivate a loving and healthy relationship with yourself.
Recent research indicates that compassion and lovingkindness are inherent human qualities, which everyone can develop. We’ll learn the difference between self-compassion and self-indulgence, transform emotional barriers and resistances, and learn to work with self-judgements and criticism through understanding and patience.
This program will include instruction, guided meditation, mindful movement, discussion and Q&A. No experience with meditation is necessary. Please wear comfortable and loose clothing. Chairs, floor cushions, and yoga mats will be provided.
Register before September 19 at the Early Bird rate of $60.
After September 19, the cost of this program is $75.
For individuals who identify as People of Color, and are unable to afford the full fee, the cost of this program is $40.
